Catawba Island Vacations from $159

Let me start by saying we’ve stayed in Country Suites hotels in other locations before so I didn’t think it would be bad. I saw a bunch 10/10 scores and figured the lower score ones were just ‘those’ people that love to complain. Nope! I was wrong! The lower scores were 100% correct. The hotel is in desperate need of renovations. It has totally been let to go to s***. The 1st room they tried to give us was still dirty with pee on the floor, stained carpet, toothpaste splattered all over the sink, etc. The door was propped open too. They tried to say oh it’s done, they just leave it propped open. Lies and leaving a door propped open is unsafe. The 2nd room was a not much better, no way worth $529 for 2 days. There was a bath tub in there!!! The shower had what looked like black mold. The shower curtain was horribly discolored. No clock! No tv info, no movie channels, both bed coverings had stains, one with what looked like dried blood spots and the other dirty. Absolutely no counter space at the sink. The pool & 5x5 weight room! Yikes! I’m pretty sure we would had gotten an infection of some kind. Breakfast was scary and you could see in the kitchen which was awful. Only 1 ice machine and it wasn’t working right. The staff was nice enough but there is a serious hygiene issue. There was just no care about anything at all. I’m shocked at the conditions for the price. Being 4 hrs from home, on a Friday, on 4th of July wknd at 4pm, we were stuck. It really ruined our getaway.

The outside of the property was beautiful but the inside of the motel was old and small. Very expensive considering how old it is.

Excellent Hotel! The pool is small and was very crowded since it was 4th of July weekend. We asked for an upper floor, but did not get one - probably due to the fact that the hotel was completely book. Location is perfect! Great views. Staff was extremely accommodating and kind.

Great motel in Port Clinton. Short walk to Jet express ferry to PIB and social district. We like staying in the main bldg as less noisy. Very friendly staff

Amazing!! Absolutely wonderful place to stay!! As promised, it was clean and quiet. The owner was super nice, breakfast was too notch, & turn down service was a pleasant treat. My only suggestion, even though we had our balcony to sit on, it would’ve been nice to sit outside (ground level) on some lounge chairs to put up our feet and enjoy the atmosphere. But it’s just that, a suggestion. We will definitely be return visitors to this establishment next year! Thank you to everyone at The Anchor Inn who made our stay exactly what we expected it to be.
